Groups and Bible Studies

At Park UMC we believe that the love of God is demonstrated through acts of love and kindness.

Being #ForOurNeighbors is using the tools and talents that God has given us to make an impact in our local community.

Beginning on September 7, we will be offering the Short-Term DISCIPLE Bible Study – Invitation to Genesis. This eleven-week study, (9/7-11/16), will take us into the rich tapestry of Genesis exploring the interaction between God and very human people - pride, family relationships, conflict and journey all showcase the best-known stories of Creation, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Rebekah and Joseph. Participants DO NOT have to have an in-depth knowledge of the Bible to enjoy and benefit from participation. Reading two chapters of Genesis a week, participants will discover the life altering stories that will invite them to follow Christ as true disciples. The study group will meet weekly from approximately 7-8:15 pm; we are planning on providing childcare. If you wish to participate, see Troy to sign up or call the church office by Sunday, September 4, 2022.

In Find Your People, Jennie Allen draws on fascinating insights from science and history, timeless biblical truth, and vulnerable stories from her own life to help you:

- overcome the barriers to making new friends and learn to initiate with easy-to-follow steps
- find simple ways to press through awkward to get to authentic in conversations
- understand how conflict can strengthen relationships rather than destroy them
- identify the type of friend you are and the types of friends you need
- learn the five practical ingredients you need to have the type of friends you've always longed for

You were created to play, engage, adventure, and explore--with others. In Find Your People, you'll discover exactly how to dive into the deep end and experience the full wonder of community. Because while the ache of loneliness is real, it doesn't have to be your reality.

The study will begin on 09/11 and will meet in the meeting room at 9:15 on Sunday morning.

Purpose:  Covenant Discipleship groups are the “foundation of God’s household.”  This ministry consists of small groups whose members help form leaders who disciple others at Park United Methodist Church and the community of North East.  Disciples live and train others in the Christian life.  They know Christ, grow in him, and serve him.  Covenant group members encourage, support, and challenge each other while growing closer to Christ.
