Adopt a Student
This year we have reached the THIRTEENTH YEAR of participating in the North East “Adopt a Student” program to help students with clothing and new book bags (backpacks) to begin the school year.
The North East Council of Churches sponsors this program to offer assistance to 140 – 200 children in need in our community. Please consider “adopting” a child or two. It is our desire to meet some of the needs of these students. We ask that you purchase one or two outfits, underwear, socks, and book bag/backpack.
If you are able and wish to purchase more clothing, please consider “adopting” more than one child. We strive to have the backpacks filled similarly so that siblings have the same amount of new items. A child may be “adopted” by an individual, a family, a class, or small group within the congregation. Student information will be available before and after worship in the Fellowship Hall beginning Sunday, July 19th. If you are currently worshipping from home, you may pick up your forms during office hours beginning Monday, July 20th.
If you are unable to shop, we will accept monetary gifts or maybe you can volunteer to be a shopper. School supplies are also being collected through the “Back 2 School Success” program coordinated by the North East Lions Club. Thank you for showing children and parents Christ's love in action. All filled Backpacks must be returned to Park Church by noon on Monday, August 10.
